Homefront: The Revolution is the awesome adventure action video game developed by Dambuster Studios and published by Deep Silver. This game was released on 20 May 2016. It is the reboot to Homefront. Until now, the game has received mixed reviews upon release. Critics mostly praise the open world and weapon customization system while criticizing the narrative, characters, and gunplay, along with the technical issues for hampering the overall experience.

Story

In 2025, the United States’ economy resulting from the wars collapses, forces the United States to default on their debt to North Korea. Joe Tae-Se’s son named John Tae-Se takes this advantage as a pretext to invade and occupy the country. They use a backdoor installed in all APEX technology to shut down the United States military. Even though they announce that it is an international humanitarian effort to restore the United States, they mine this country to rob precious, rare resources, and dominate civilians.

Homefront: The Revolution game takes place in Philadelphia in 2029, four years into the occupation. And now, America is on its knees. The new environment in this place is heavily policed and oppressed. Civilians feel threatened in fear as the Korean People’s Army keeps watch over multiple districts in the city, aided by American collaborators and led by Mayor Simpson.

No one can imagine that Philadelphia used to be the birthplace of Independence. It has currently become a ghetto. In which, surveillance drones and armored patrols always control everybody and crush anyone who disagrees with ferocious force. Therefore, they must cooperate just to survive because their freedom died. However, a Resistance is forming in the arid land of the Red Zone. It is a guerrilla force that fights for the freedom. But Freedom always has a price…

Overview

Homefront: The Revolution is an interesting open world first-person shooter game. As soon as you embark on the challenge, you need to remember that you have to lead the Resistance movement in guerrilla warfare to battle against a superior military force.

It is a living, breathing and open world which can respond to every your action. So, you and your Resistance Cell are able to inspire a rebellion on the streets. Aside from that, you can turn Occupation into Revolution because of oppressed civilians.

Don’t forget that the enemy is stronger than you. They have the powerful technology, firepower, heavy armor and air support. Thus, you need to learn and master the art of guerrilla warfare including activities like ambush, sabotage, infiltration, deception. And you should fight and run through the war-ravaged suburbs of Philadelphia at the same time.

The campaign is only the starting. In Co-op, you and other friends can create your Resistance Cell and become famous as heroes.
